This February 14th we will be celebrating the 7th World Sound Healing Day! This is a day when people throughout the planet sound together for planetary peace and healing at 12 noon Eastern time, as well as throughout the day.

I’d like to take this opportunity to offer some new suggestions on how you can participate in the 2009 World Sound Healing Day
We’ve always received such extraordinary feedback from you with regard to your participation in this event. Now here’s an opportunity to post your feedback on this blog.
So many of you have joined us in this event throughout the years, and many of you have initiated your own events in conjunction with World Sound Healing Day. What a blessing! It is my greatest hope that even more of you will facilitate and organize your own events this year.
While it’s always been my belief that even a small number of individuals who project intentionalized sound to the planet for Global Harmonization is powerful, it is my understanding that “the more the merrier”. That is why, this year, I’m calling for as much collaborating and co-creation with regard to World Sound Healing Day as possible and putting out the call to organize events in your area.
As you may know, last year, we manifested www.templeofsacredsound.org as a gathering place in cyberspace for those throughout the planet to use as a vehicle to assist in sending Healing Sounds to the planet. Our blog Temple of Sacred Sound continues to be an extraordinary website for this purpose, and on Feb. 14h, it will be a great venue for those joining us to tone together in cyberspace.
This year, through our blog, I’d like to ask that you present not only your comments regarding the energy of using sound to harmonize the planet, but also to discuss possible ways that February 14th can become a potent day for sounding forth for Global Harmonization. And how you may create and facilitate sounding for global peace.
If you’ll be joining us in cyberspace on Feb. 14th, let us know. If you’ll be sending out announcements about this event to others, let us know. If you’ll be creating a physical plane event on this day, let us know. Let’s really have the Global Community of Sound Healers make their voices heard. The more people who read about the thoughts, ideas and events that will occur in conjunction with World Sound Healing Day, the more powerful and profound the thought form that we manifest will be.
World Sound Healing Day is YOUR event—it is for each and every one of you who understands and utilize the power of sound to heal and transform. This is a golden opportunity to bring sound healing to Mother Earth.
In addition, my wife Andi Goldman and I will be hosting a radio show on Saturday, Feb. 14th on www.healthylife.net that will lead into our noon time (Eastern Time) World Sound Healing experience.
On a local level, we’ll also be facilitating a free one hour toning experience here in Boulder, Colorado later that after noon. Along with our toning the “AH” sound for planetary healing, we will also have a large quartz crystal bowl filled with water in the center of our toning circle. After our hour of toning, everyone gets to drink of that water which is truly luminescent in its taste and effect. The remainder of the water will be poured into Boulder Creek, taking the energy of this World Sound Healing Day event into the ocean.
This is just one example of what can be done on this powerful and important day of planetary healing. I encourage you to be creative and to let us know any other thoughts, ideas and activities you may be planning for this World Sound Healing Day. It will be great to hear from you.
Let’s really get together and act as one coherent, celestial tone to initiate the energies of Light & Love through Sound for the planet.

Every year I participate in World Sound Healing Day since it was first conceived many years ago. I think the idea of adding our voices together as a sacred prayer to the Divine (and sending a sonic valentine to Mother Earth) is really important. The use of the Temple of Sacred Sound is quite an extraordinary way of enhancing this. I want to thank Jonathan for the creation of that most important cyberspace sound temple where people can tone all the time–sending their vibrations of peace and harmony throughout the planet. I think that our Light, our Love and our Sound really do influence and effect the noosphere. And I give thanks that I’m able to be a part of this.

A group of us are inspired to host a gathering and fund raiser for the evening of 2/14, World Sound Healing Day, in Los Angeles, CA. We’d love to know if others in the area would like to contribute time, energy, or other support to help us create a sacred space for the event. Also want to know if any other gatherings are already planned in the area. Thank you Jonathan and friends for facilitating the opening of the global heart.

Every year we receive the most extraordinary emails from people sharing their experiences with World Sound Healing Day. These notes provide beautiful feedback that there truly are groups throughout the planet participating over the course of the day! And the number continues to grow… As you add your voice, whether in a group or solo, know that you will be a making a connection to this energetic orchestra.
Jonathan has already issued an invitation for everyone to share their 2009 experiences here. But as we lead up to this year’s event, I would also like to encourage people who have participated in past years to post any experiences or information about special events you may have conducted. Your sharing may inspire others as to how they may gather and organize groups of their own. Also– People often write looking for groups to join during the day. If you are hosting a WSHD toning event, please publicize it here. If you build it– They will come!

Thanks AWS. I’d like to hear about the special events that people have created in the past. I’m also looking for the best way to bring together those interested in either creating or attending the gathering in Los Angeles on 2/14. I’ll create a Facebook page, but not everyone is one FB, yet. Is there a sound healing events calendar that would be a good directory for all the events that are being planned around world?

We have had so many different communications from people throughout all the years of World Sound Healing Day and their activities. There are been worldwide events scheduled. Here are just a few excerpts from last year:
I am happy to tell you that today I got permit from the city of Amsterdam to make an action event for sound healing day. We will be in the famous Dam square from 12.00 our time…. We will make a circle (we are artist so it will be beautiful) with our volunteers and a drum band, attract people and do sounding together every half hour. We hope to make more people aware about the power of their voice, mind and intention. We are planning a publicity campaign and hope to lead this every year.

We are presenting a free grief workshop “Grief on Valentine’s Day: Personal and Global Healing” from 8:45 am – 11:55 am by a Hawaiian Healer who will discuss the values in understanding vibration and end it with the community sound ‘ah’ for 5 min @ noon so we will join your global harmonization. This is a lovely idea to find in my emails. A pity it only ever mentions eastern standard time. For the majority of people in this world eastern standard time is an unknown. If the wish is to truely make this a world event then maybe we should all embrace the diversity of the world. Perhaps those that live with the sunrise could make a conscious effort to realise that many people of love try to avoid the corrupt culture we find there. So I’m sure I can find the GMT equivalent of EST, but if you all really believe in love and peace even where it is contrary to your culture perhaps you could make a table of time zones that embrace the world. Stop giving the impression that you expect the people of this world to dance to your tune – that is the ego of empire – recognise this and as the ego is lost then the hope for growth in peace and love has a chance.

We will have a sound healing gathering – open to all regardless of race, creed religion, sex, color – here in Galilee.
Have been having wonderful grassroots get togethers on the block. It is so beautiful to have so many different kinds of people come together.
Healing is happening and I am humbled in awe.

I just received the notice. How exciting! And the quartz bowl of water, ohhh my gosh! Can someone sample it for microscope purposes before and after? What a blessing to sip! I’m going to work on some ceremonies for my area, around the radio show and AH time

I wanted to let you know that there will be a group meeting in Calgary, Alberta to tone for World Sound Healing Day on Feb. 14. We will be meeting at the Glamorgan Community Association in Southwest Calgary. This will be our 4th year joining you. We meet for 3 hours from 9 am to 12 noon in a ceremony of continuous toning for our beautiful Earth. Last year, we added a crystal bowl filled with water that was shared at the end of the ceremony. The remaining water was given to the Bow River.

Just a quick reply to the note above regarding time zones– WSHD is a global sound event, but it would be very unwieldy to list every time zone on the planet in the announcement email. We use US Eastern Standard time as a reference point because that is typically the easiest US time zone for people to relate to in order to convert to their local times. Please visit an online time zone converter such as the one at http://www.timezoneconverter.com and that will help you to calculate your time zone with 12:00 noon US EST (Eastern time in the USA).
But, in any case, the Noon Eastern time toning is only one event over the course of the day. We encourage people to tone at Noon in their respective time zones in order to create a wave of Sound that will sweep the planet throughout the whole day, but even that schedule is flexible–Participants may also feel free to visit the toning chambers at http://www.templeofsacredsound.org at any time to contribute their voices, Sound, and energy to the day’s intention at a time of thier own choosing. Also many people organize their own toning groups in their local area at times that will work well for them.

World Sound Healing Day is just profound. I am ever grateful to Jonathan for this beautiful time of tonal love dedicated to Gaia. Thank you, Jonathan, for this heart-centered day of sacred sound! And thanks to Andi and Alec!
I’ve had WSHD events in my home in the past and also in performance spaces such as the Synchronicity Center and Anjali Yoga Center in Tucson.
Several WSHD event ideas:
After founding Tucson Soundings, there were monthly and bi-monthly sound events for several years. On February 14, we would join with WSHD participants for this event at the Tucson Creative Living Center, a spectacular adobe and two story glass dance studio. One year we toned and played all crystal bowls, working with a variety of alchemy crystal bowls such as platinum, ruby, citrine and 24K Gold infused alchemy bowls from Crystal Tones. (I was their PR dir. at the time.) We toned with and without the bowls, enjoying the poignant silent interludes and thrill of exponentionally multiplied heart energies as we joined with participants worldwide. Sublime.
Tucson Soundings produced an event in 2008 with talented sound healer Darrell Hicks at the Tucson Creative Living Center high above the city lights. The setting is under the stars and surrounded by Sonoran Desert wildlife and giant cacti. Darrell, a graduate of the Healing Sounds Intensive and longtime multi-talented healing facilitator, composed a special song for the event. He shared it with Jonathan beforehand and he also brought his amethyst acoustic healing mat for all to experience during the event. This was a multi-layered sound event that that was profound as we joined the WSHD planetary bliss. The large group toned with several tracks from JG’s Chakra Chants CD, then joined in kirtan singing, toned AH, played crystal bowls and experienced an evening of great joy. Toning, creating your own music and coming together for eclectic group sounds is fantissimo. In addition, participants brought Valentines and wonderful food to share afterwards. I’m sure there are exciting ideas WSHD bloggers have that will be warmly received and produce exceptional gatherings! The Tucson events were advertised, emailed around and featured in local calendars/papers/electronic media and by word of mouth. That way, we continued to meet new people interested in sound.
It was delightful to create and experience a local event that was so much fun and where dedication to sound was revered and experienced..
Note: Darrell has a huge sonic platform at a ranch in Tucson. Dr. Andrew Weil, others and I have also experienced its multidimensional power. Darrell has worked with the medical community referrals for pre and post surgery sessions in Houston using this platform. He has also offered sessions at Canyon Ranch and for faculty at the U of AZ as well as individuals.

What a wonderful day this will be!
I am a leader of Dances of Universal Peace in Sedona and Cottonwood, AZ. We sing songs and mantras from worldwide spiritual traditions, and create simple circle dances of symbolic movements to go with them. The dances create feelings of peace and unity with all people through sacred sound and gentle movement. There are Dances of Universal Peace dance circles all over the world. Our Sedona dance date is the 2nd Saturday of each month, which coincides beautifully with World Sound Healing Day! We will incorporate this into our Dance.
