The focus of this show will be dedicated to my latest book, THE DIVINE NAME: The Sound That Can Change the World, which will be released on March 15th from Hay House. Those of you who know me are aware of how very pleased and excited I am about the release of this book. For me, it represents the culmination of my over 30 year’s work in the field of sound healing. The Divine Name is a discovery I made 15 years ago, of a universal sound that was composed of vowels which when vocalized sounded amazingly like the Tetragrammaton: the ancient, personal name of God from the Old Testament. From my experiences working and teaching this sound, I’ve found that this name seems to have the ability to resonate both the physical body and subtle energy fields of anyone who intones it, irrespective of religion, tradition or belief.

She has shared her healing story and her work with the crystal bowls at the United Nations, as well as the NY Times and CBS News.

Amrita publishes a bi-weekly online subscription newsletter called the Sound News Chronicle. She monitors the news media and compiles news articles, scientific research, recent publications, recordings and events in the field of sound healing and music therapy into an easy access newsletter. She is founder and director of The Healing Music Organization.

Charles T. Eagle, Jr., Ph.D. , is a modern pioneer of Music Medicine, which he describes as “the combination and interaction of the art of medicine with the science of music”. Especially since the early 1960’s, Dr. Eagle has been involved in the transformational and therapeutic, spiritual and healing function of sound and music. This venture has resulted in an interdisciplinary study of music and sound from a variety of areas, including the “soft” and “hard” sciences, the arts, and the history of both. Dr. Eagle is Professor emeritus of Music Therapy and former University Fellow of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas U.S.A., where he was the founding Head of the Department of Music Therapy: Medicine and Health in 1975. In addition to his attaining 15 professional degrees and certifications, he also has been a member and served as an elected officer of several organizations, including the National Association for Music Therapy (NAMT) and the International Society for Music in Medicine (currently on the Scientific Committee).

Charles has been an old and dear friend–a mentor as well as a colleague who I consider to be a wisdom keeper in this tradition of Sound Healing. We will discuss many varied topics including “The Harmonic Nature of the Universe” and “The Origins of Music and Medicine”.

Pat Moffitt Cook, Ph.D., CCMHP, FAMI is the founder and director of the Open Ear Center in Washington State. She is a pioneer in the research and education of cross-cultural sound and music in healthcare and education. This includes lengthy studies with a grand master of martial and healing arts in Indonesia as well as a North Indian Hindu village music healer in India.
